I always wanted to explore more about Canada's north - so in the summer of 2014, I had a chance to attending a photography bird workshop at Churchill, Manitoba with David Hemmings. This is the second time for me and Dave going to Northern Manitoba - First time it was 2008, we went to Nanuk (about 300 km) from churchill along the shore of Hudson Bay for Polar Bear photogrphy.  June is a beautiful time of the year to visit churchill - spring on the Tundra with wild flowers in bloom, Polar bears are still a bit north - gave us a very beautiful background to take pictures of multiple species of birds and safety fot those bird photographers wondering in the wide could easily become din dins for the Polar Bear if they are around.

Pacific Loons, Golden Plovers, Ducks and many shore birds, we had a great time to photograph these birds. After this trip, I had a new appreciation for nature  - in waders with hip deep water in ponds close to freezing temperure & swarms of misquitos around us - even after insect repellent spray and with body mosiquito nets - I sill have at least 10-20 bites on every arm or leg, which a stink on every nockle of my fingers!

All in all, I had such great time and the last day, even got a chance to photography a baby Arctic Fox!
